A calming perspective

January 2, 2009

Darren Kuropatwa, a member of my PLN, posted this video on our private ning. I wanted to share it here since it presents what I believe is a balanced perspective for those who think technology and social media are isolating and detrimental to relationships.

This video definitely puts a calmer perspective on things – a computer mediated environment can be an engaging way to stimulate students to learn. The key though is to practice guidance by recognizing that texting and gaming is part of that overall construct. The troubles begin in my opinion when it becomes too social in nature or a free for all.
    Thanks so much for sharing.

I wanted a perfect ending. Now I’ve learned, the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle and end.
