I’ve always thought letterpress printed cards should be saved and displayed. About a month ago, I started selling some of my small prints with these wood (white birch and other) stands. But now I’m encouraging people to get them for their cards, too. Give a card and then display it!

The wooden stands are $5 alone, $10 with a card or small print. Hey, it’s an unusual gift for someone special– or yourself :)

Collaborating With a Friend

April 19, 2017

I have always enjoyed connecting with others, whether teaching, running, or printing. Recently, I met a new printer who had just moved to Fredericksburg. Well, he’s not a new printer. He’s quite experienced. But our relationship is new!

Pete Morelewicz designs– everything. He has an eye for details, and I love his work. So when he offered to design a couple of cards for Fredericksburg that we could letterpress print, I jumped at the chance.

You can find these locally at LibertyTown Arts, Heather’s, and Agora Coffee. I love the way they turned out. And what’s better than sending a love note from your favorite city?

Off to the Visual Arts Center

My friend, Caroline, is coming back to town. We were certified on the press at the Vis Arts Ctr in Richmond last month, so we want to give it a try- together! We’ll spend the day setting type and printing. I’m working on this print, but it will not look the same once I pick out type and ornaments.

I wanted to give myself something to visualize before I started.

The words, though, will hang on my wall to give me a reminder of how I want to be.

Reboot/ Regroup

December 29, 2016

file0002143843277I needed yesterday. Two friends from Life is a Verb Camp, a retreat I attended in November, came to visit and learn about letterpress printing.

Recently, I’ve been feeling somewhat out of sorts with my creative life. Not sure of how to proceed, I just drifted from one project to another. But yesterday, I worked with these friends and found myself so caught up in not only printing but also sharing what I do and how I do it.

Hmmm, maybe I miss teaching? Maybe I ought to do this more often? Sometimes the Universe talks loudly and clearly. And I am listening.

So what’s my next step? I need to get more organized with my “stuff” and my process. That will happen over the next two months. Then I’ll begin to advertise for workshops. Yay, I have a plan!
